Employer FAQs

Will my finder's fee be refunded if I don't choose anyone?

Absolutely. Refer to the general FAQ below for timescales of payments.

How do I advertise that I'm offering a finder's fee?

Advertising that you are offering a finder’s fee is crucial to the success of your campaign. We offer several ways that you can achieve this:

Advertising on Your Website or Job Board

    • Insert our code into your website and display the CommendU.com button. This will advertise the position and finder’s fee on offer. The button will then link back to CommendU.com, where the referrer can enter their details.
    • Insert our code into your preferred online job board. The code will show a button highlighting the position and finder’s fee on offer. Note that not all job boards allow this code to be used.
    • When you can’t use our code, use the provided url to link back to the CommendU.com website. In some cases, your website or job board many not allow links, so the referrer may need to copy and paste the url into their browser.

Social Sharing

Share the job using the social network share buttons. Make sure it’s clear that you’re offering a finder’s fee!

Can I hire two or more people with the same advert?

Certainly!  If the job title and description is the same, create and pay for a single position.  Once one person has been hired, you will be given the option of approving a referral and copying all open referrals to another position.  You then pay for this second position and you can review the further referrals.  All the details will remain the same though these can be edited, with the exception of the finder’s fee, which must be the same as the original position.

Can I refer someone as an employer?

A referrer can’t advertise a job, and an employer can’t refer anyone to a job. We think it’s best to keep these separate! Why not use your personal email for your Referrer account, and your work email from your Employer account?

How finder's fee refund is processed to employer?

The finder’s fee refund is made back to the original card used to pay for the CommendU.com service.

How long will my job stay on CommendU.com?

Your job will remain on CommendU.com as long as the job remains open.  We may contact you from time to time to ensure any open Positions are still live and relevant.  If no activity by an Employer is registered on the Position, the Position may be closed by CommendU.com.

Referrer FAQs

What if two or more people refer the same person?

Only one referrer will be paid the finder’s fee. The employer will pick the referral that stood out to them. Be sure to craft your referral so yous is the one that stands out the most!

Can I refer more than one person for a job

Only one active referral can be considered for each job. If you have two (or more), submit the one you think is most likely to be a good fit for the job, and want to move. This will ensure you get the best rating as a referrer. If, through discussions with the employer, you decide that another contact would be a better fit, withdraw your original referral and submit your next one. This strict limit of one open referral at a time has been set to increase the quality of the referrals and help avoid spam. Remember, if you pass on details of anyone else other than your active referral, you won’t receive the finder’s fee.

What if my referral is employed but I don't get paid?

There could be several reasons for this:

      • The same person has been referred by someone else, and the employer has selected their referral as the successful one.
      • The employer was already aware of this person, and has been speaking to them outside of your referral.
      • The successful candidate has applied for the job themselves, either directly with the employer, or through the CommendU.com platform.

If you believe that your referral was used by the employer, and you have not been awarded the finder’s fee, you can initiate a dispute against the referral within 30 days of the job being closed. We then aim to complete all investigations within 30 days. If your dispute is successful, the finder’s fee payment will be initiated at the end of the dispute period.

Can I apply for a job myself?

We offer the opportunity for employers to accept direct job applications via CommendU.com. However, not every employer wishes to use this service. There will be a “Apply Now” button on the “View Job” page that will allow direct applications. Alternatively, go to the employer’s website and apply there!

Can an employer contact a referral without me being paid?

Yes, but not through CommendU.com. The employer may already know the referral, in which case they may already be talking. The referral may be referred by someone else. However, you need to ensure that no personal details are provided in the initial referral, otherwise the employer could locate the referral themselves.

Can I advertise if I am registered as a Referrer?

A referrer can’t advertise a job, and an employer can’t refer anyone to a job. We think it’s best to keep these separate! Why not use your personal email for your Referrer account, and your work email from your Employer account?

How payment is made to a referrer (Paypal / cheque)?

We prefer PayPal. Please ensure that your PayPal account uses the email address provided for your account login.
